Random Day in Seoul

This should have been posted earlier, but it has been a crazy couple of weeks. On the 17th of September I went into Seoul to meet Alisa ( good friend who had spent the last 3-4 months traveling in southeast Asia). It was great to see her again. We met in Myeongdong for some kalguksu, which is just a basic noodle soup -- but in Myeongdong it is fabulous!

From there we walked around, but neither of us were in the mood to shop -- so Myeongdong was not too interesting. Instead of getting on the subway we decided just to wander around the city. We ended up in Dongdaemun by a new river the city has recently dug up to make the city greener. It was fun just hanging out and talking. Hearing about all of her adventures, and watching the kids playing. It was also fun to enjoy the randomness of some things in Korea. A giant shoe truck (sorry no picture). A very Korean Starbucks. A strangely broken bridge. A tile wall. A clinic with an unusual name. And finally a very Asian looking old man crossing the river on stepping stones.

It was a fun day that started with a delicious lunch and ended when we were in the right area to go to our favorite Indian food restaurant and enjoy a great dinner. Yea!
