Friday was a normal day pretty much. A WaBar night (a local bar). But it was a fun night and lasted until about 3 am, which was late considering I was going to an amusement park the next day.
Saturday morning I met Jill and Craig at the bus station to go to Lotte World for Oktoberfest. Lotte World is an amusement park in the middle (literally) of Seoul. It is a pretty good size, and a large part of the park is indoors. There is an icerink in the middle, but 2 floors below the rest of it, and then there are all the rides on about 3 floors, with a bunch of park food and games. There is also an outdoor section. The Oktoberfest thing meant that you could buy a cup that had free refills on beer -- mmmmm.

When we arrived we had to buy ears :) and then go on some rides. I think rides have actually become more fun in the last few years. I have not been to an amusement park in ages and I had a blast. The first thing we went on were the 'hot air balloons' which let us see the whole place, so that we could decide what to do next.

After a bit we went to explore the outside and to to find the beer. When you first walk out you see the Disney style castle -- although Lotte World is not Disney at all. And then all of the rides
are jammed into a tiny area -- it is crazy -- when you are used to huge places. We got some refreshments and then went on the swings.
I have never gotten dizzy on the swings before, but between trying to take pictures on them and the earlier refreshments I actually did feel a little dizzy.

Next it was the bungee ride. In the line up we were asked if we were 'drunken'. We are not sure why we were singled out, we were not drunk, but it may have had something to do with my headband :)
Then we decided to try out the haunted house -- it looked popular and we thought it would be silly fun. Too bad the scary part was all talking and we had no idea what was being said. There were little air vents all over the place though so it felt like the voice in you ear (headphones) was also breathing on you -- pretty creepy.
It was a great day. Good friends, good food, good rides, good beer... What more can you ask for?
How about following a great Saturday with an excellent Sunday. Tom, a friend in Osan, is leaving at the end of the month, and there was a going away party at a local bar. He is going with his girlfriend and her bar closing, so there was lots of cheap drinks and free punch. I was not going to stay long but ... It was good fun and the party that started at 2 and I was going to leave by 5 went until 11!
Most of the afternoon was just good times catching up with old friends and new ones, until all had fully loosened up. There was even a guitar and we all started singing. I haven't done that in ages too. Then Jake had to leave which meant that tom had to try and stop him, this turned into a contest oops.

All in all a great weekend!
